Heard you were having a demo hunt in Toronto. I wrote before but I just want to brag up my friend Sherrie Lea.

She is a songwriter, guitarist, bassist and she's known worldwide. I just sent you her video.

She couldn't take the jealousy and stuff in her band so I encouraged her to leave them. She actually didn't leave them but watched them implode and become derailed. She's a team player and has always promoted her band first. I just think this has been a mistake.

Anyway we just filmed a mini vid for No Ordinary Love. She has amazing songs and best of all she loves animals.

The cool part is we could say she is a former prostitute, cause only recently we as a team decided that we might have to go that route to feed all her pets.

Thanks and sorry for my letter

Taylor

Dear Mr. Gene Simmons,

Hi we are a band called SOMA from Toronto, Canada. We have tried to get label interest here in Canada but it is very difficult. We have done a press kit and shopped it to labels but have had little response. We have radio play in the College scene and some major cities in Canada but have not broken into the major radio scene in Toronto. Unfortunately we do not have an electronic press kit available at this time but we do have a video uploaded to our mysapce account. Hopefully you can check it out at www.myspace.com/somamusic. We hope to hear some feedback from you regarding our music and future opportunities in the music industry.

Thanks for your time,

Phil Villa - drummer of SOMA

Response from Gene:

Step 1. Go to SIMMONS RECORDS.COM

Step 2. Follow directions.

Step 3. Good luck.

Gene,

I saw you on George Strombolopolous and you seemed interested in promoting Toronto bands. I’m a writer and poet, my friend Trish is a writer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist musician who’s freakin’ amazing. I invite you to her next gig if you’re in town. If you can’t go, I’d still recommend somebody find the time to stop by, she’s a rumbling volcano of talent I assure you.

Thanks so much,

Kathleen Zinck

Hi my name is Brad, I just wanted to say that I am really excited and support you 100%. I am a central Albertan. Im also a friend and fan of Soul Side In, and I saw your (Gene's) interview while in Edmonton, speaking on local bands, and the Canadaina musicians we are blessed with in this country. There is so much talent here and to see you coming to Canada to start a New record label, and bring to the table what these artists really needed is very exciting.

I would love to know more about your visions and what you plan to provide in the music indusrty here. I am well conected to a number of artists and am seeking a professional producing and recording career. Any information you can give me will be helpful.

Mr. Simmons,

I was at the debate you had with Mr. Lefsetz and I fully support your perspective. Canadian talent needs people like you to be given that head start that is almost impossible to get by being an Indie Artist.

Knowing you are such a great believer in the Canadian talent, why don't you put together "Canada's Got Talent" and put skeptics like Mr. Lefsetz in their place? That would give Canadian talent of all ages a chance to show what they can do. If anybody has the power to make this happen and do it right, it's you!

Regards,

Giuseppe Mileto

We are having Great fun while doing this , we enjoy the creative process and it gives us time together which is special in todays busy world.

The electric stuff in progress is at our band web site...the link is on our myspace page...Try ouT "Nikola" " Happy Ferrous" or "Cherry bloom" this will give you a glimpse into how "ALL over thee frikin map " we are.

All musical errors are our lo-tech version of encryption ...the refined versions of these creations are in progress but not available to the public yet.

Hi Gene, or whoever is reading this. I've heard about Gene and his new record lable and that he's looking for some bands to sign. I just want him to know about MY town and THE BEST BAND EVER that needs some recognition. Their called "trixx" and they are awesome! the lead singer is SEXY AS FUCK and the rest of the band - well they jus make her look even better. If you didnt look them up and hear some shit you would be missing out. I'm telling you the truth. Hope you can do what you do and make some MONEY. I know how much you love making money Gene and thats exactly what this band is going to do.

Good luck in the search. See you in Sudbury Ontario Canada Gene!!! :)

peace, love xox

Andrea

Response from Gene:

No, I probably won't look them up. It's up to them to be proactive and send us their demo, if they want. And by now, they should know how. The mountain will NOT come to you. YOU have to go to the mountain.

Straight to the point:

I am a record producer/sound engineer and I have a great opportunity for your label, 1,300,000 hits on my artist's webpage 12 000 000 views in the last 18 months.

He did not sign anything yet with any production company/label and we are looking at finishing the first album in august. He is young, talented and already the demand is overwhelming.

We need good advice, money and a fast-track plan to push his career. Based on what I know about you, you are the one that can make it happen. Not only making you richer in the process and helping your label succeed but, with a touch of humor, making all this fun. He has been classified on numerous websites as: Hip Hop, Electro and Powerpop . We are not afraid of hard work, we are based in montreal.

Since no other information will be sent in advance and only by FTP download , I will be waiting for your phone call until april 27th. If I have no answer by then, I will have to look for another label... unfortunately timing is everything.

N-P Bilodeau

Hello Gene,

I'm looking to get a hold someone to discuss Exit This Side. The band currently has a hit song climbing the Canadian radio charts.

Here's some quick stats:
-"One Night Stand" is #20 of the top 40 CHR charts and climbing
-The song is being played on over 30 stations across the country and climbing
-CHUM Media chose Exit This Side as their Emerging artist for April 2009, giving press, ads, and radio play on all Chum stations in Canada
-The band is planning a summer tour across Canada
-The band is selling 200 singles and 100 full albums per week on Itunes

We're looking to partner with a team that will help us get to the next level :). Would someone from Gene's crew/ label be able to speak/ meet with us?

Thanks!

Jamie - Exit This Side

Response from Gene:

You have to do what everyone else does. SUBMIT YOUR DEMO HERE is the box you need to click. Good luck.

Gene,

Saw an article in Toronto Life about your team up in promoting Canadian bands with Belinda Stronach.

If you don't already know Metric you should check out all their albums - they're phenominally talented...I'm one of their biggest fans...and I've got a good gut instinct for a hit. If they had someone like you promoting them properly, they'd be one of the biggest bands on the planet and you'd reap the rewards.

Mike Szummer.
